‘Squid Game’ star Jung Ho-yeon parts ways with longtime boyfriend Lee Dong-hwi
SEOUL, Nov. 26 (Yonhap) — “Squid Game” star Jung Ho-yeon has ended her nine-year relationship with actor Lee Dong-hwi, their respective agencies said Tuesday.
The two decided to “remain good colleagues,” Jung’s agency, Saram Entertainment, said.
Jung and Lee began dating in 2015, publicly confirming their relationship the following year.
Jung had previously shared in interviews that Lee was a source of support for her, and he also publicly expressed his affection on social media when she won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2022 for her role in Netflix’s breakout hit “Squid Game.”
The 30-year-old actress debuted as a model in 2010 and rose to international fame with her portrayal of North Korean defector Kang Sae-byeok in the series.
Lee, making his acting debut in 2012, gained widespread recognition for his role in tvN’s retro drama “Reply 1988.”
