OpenAI launches ‘ChatGPT Atlas’ to rival chrome

OpenAI has unveiled a groundbreaking AI-powered web browser named ChatGPT Atlas, designed to revolutionize how people interact with the internet. Based on the popular ChatGPT, this intelligent browser assists users while they surf the web, going beyond traditional search and navigation. With this launch, OpenAI aims to create a more intuitive and conversational browsing experience.
Unlike conventional browsers, Atlas acts as a digital assistant that understands, summarizes, and interacts with web content. Users can now ask the browser to summarize an article, compare products, book flight tickets, or extract key points from any webpage—simply by chatting. The browser includes a special ‘Ask ChatGPT’ button, allowing users to start conversations about on-page content instantly.

One of Atlas’s standout features is its memory. It remembers users’ past interactions to offer more personalized suggestions. Additionally, users retain full control over their data, with options to manage, retain, or delete browsing history. This approach emphasizes user privacy and customization while enhancing convenience.
The browser also supports automated actions like shopping, booking, and scheduling, though these features are currently exclusive to ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers. A helpful sidebar powered by ChatGPT offers summaries and explanations of page content, making it easier to absorb complex information.
